Here are some pictures from my most recent holiday (last week), where some friends of mine, myself and my fiance went on a narrowboat trip in Bath for 5 days, travelling down the canal. It was a lovely break from work, and although it wasn't as relaxing as I had hoped, it was such a laugh. Having last done one of these trips when I was much younger, I didn't realise how much work was actually needed to keep the boat in-check and running smoothly. Luckily the boys did most of the hard work, but I did chip in with driving the boat, as well as doing some of the locks and even driving into them (which I didn't think I'd do). I even did an awesome 3-point turn on the canal, and was complimented by a local who lives on the river, telling me she was impressed with how fast I did it, ha!

Also a quick mention of how beautiful the UK can be! I'm the first to say I'd love to live elsewhere, *cough cough* Thailand *cough* but this trip really opened my eyes. It was surreal practically living on the canal, waking up every morning to the most beautiful scenery with so much wildlife everywhere. So peaceful. I was also surprised at how many people actually lived on the canal permanently. There were so many longboats moored up with potted plants, bikes, chairs, fake grass, you name it. What an amazing lifestyle! Very hippy-esque which is probably why I like the idea of it, but it would have to be short term of course. Too many modern day amenities needed.

Anyway, here are some pictures and of course my outfit of the days. The converse were the only sensible shoes I brought, woops.

I'm back on blogging, so watch this space...
