A really easy way to update the ol'denim shirt. Cut out the front panels (if the shirt has them, some don't!) and you've got yourself an instantly updated top/dress perfect for Spring Summer 2011.

CUT IT.

I bought this gorgeous mens shirt for a bargain £1.49 from oxfam, and decided to cut off the arms to make a cute summer dress. Add a thin belt around the waist and you're ready to go! Simple, easy and stitch free!

STUD.

Vintage style high waist shorts from New Look for £19.99

a big trend for Spring Summer 2011, but I'm lovin' studs at the moment, so decided to add a bit of my own bliiing. I bought the studs from eBay for a bargain £1.30 for 50 studs. Cannee complain with that!

Really quick to do (literally under 10 minutes), and an easy way to refresh an old item!x

I have previously posted about studding your own items, so if you are interested in finding out how then check older posts! Just started doing this pair of shorts today after getting inspiration from the post before this. x

Fringing.

Okay, I have had my eye on this top in Topshop for a while, not sure why but I really like it.
Winter has welcomed a more rocky me.

Anyway, I figured why pay £16 for half a top? When I can happily and easily do this to one of my own tops that need a breath of new life.

So, here is how you can do it:

Choose a top, old or new and cut roughly 1cm width strips around the front and back of the top. Don't worry about trying to make it super neat, but if you want to, you can measure the 1cm gaps with a ruler and mark them with a pen lightly. Cut to the desired height, remember not to do it too high up.

Once you have cut all of the strands, pull every individual strip to make it curl and become rounded rather than the staying as the flat piece of material.

And Voila, your done. Easy peasy!
